Adjustable Gas Shotgun
Hi guys!
I want to buy a semi-auto shotgun with adjustable gas tube for trap and skeet shooting. Where can I find something like that?

Most modern automatic shotguns are claimed to be "self adjusting" for different loads. Some target guns are set up specifically for target loads, though. My old Remington 1100s do fine with one ounce loads, great with 1 1/8 oz.
Note: Trapandskeet is not all one word, it is not all one game, and it is tough to do well at both with the same gun.
Agree with Charlie.
If you just must shoot it all with one gun, a Skeet gun with tighter choke for Trap is probably the better compromise. Back when the companies sent reps with spare parts and new guns to try, the RP rep was mostly a Skeet shooter. But he could do ok at Trap with a full or modified choke barrel (pre screw choke era) in his 1100 Skeet.
A Velcro or lace on cheekpad, thin for Skeet, thick for Trap, would help.
Or buy the Sporting Clays model with adjustable comb stock.
Ithaca 37 definitely has a small I.D. magazine tube although their nice but short lived 51 auto did not.
I once got a reload stuck in a Beretta 1200 riot gun's magazine, too. Had to take it to the gunsmith to disassemble and push it out.0 -
Go to the trap, skeet and sporting clays shoots especially like big tournaments. Watch and ask around. If I could only have one I would take the shorter skeet setup and screw in a tighter choke tube for trap and maybe clays.
My 870 and 37 pumps easily handle any load I send them. I bought a super sizer for the Ithaca, the magazine tube is tighter and doesn't rattle - but expanded rims will jam, thus the collet sizer cure.0 -
Look at the Winchester SX3. It has a gas system that will work for both, comes with stock shims, interchangeable chokes and an adjustable comb if you pay the extra $$. 0
