32 H & R Magnum in Marlin 1894
I reload for my Marlin 1894 in 32 H & R, I'm also familiar with different "load levels" by reloading for Contenders & Marlins in 45/70. The loads I see for the 32 H & R, even the rifle, don't exactly inspire me - generally 1,100 to 1,300 fps. Which even with the added barrel length aren't exactly zipping along when compared to the 10" Contender doing 1,500 to 1,650 fps.
I'm told using Contender loads in the Marlin 1894 is no problem, this mirrors my experience using Contender loads in the Marlin 1895 - admittedly a larger, stronger rifle than the 1894.
SAAMI lists the 32 H & R max pressure at 21K - the Contender loads should be within SAAMI guidelines, the 1894 (which handles 357 & 44) should be OK? Anyone with a Marlin 1894 in 32 have practical experience in this?

The "Marlin Owners" forum folks agree, I think I'll be fine. I don't want to push the cartridge, but the few times I've used it I wasn't all that impressed. Using Contender loads gives the additional FPS I'd like.
Very pleasant rifle to shoot anyway, and I like that Marlin made them tube fed as is a 22 lr.0 -
Rechambering to 32-20 can get you 100gr @ 2000fps. 0 -

I'd sure like to see an 1894 in .327 Federal.0 -
I have a Winnie 94 in .45 Colt, now that is a real hoot to shoot. I may even take it deer hunting one day. 0 -

I'm happy with the T/C loads in 32 H & R. I have an 1894 in 25-20 and may add the 32-20, for no particular reason I guess. I've recently added a 1920s made Colt Police Positive Special (nothing but low pressure, slow lead for that one) and an AWA Colt clone too.
I'm a bit surprised at how much the 32 H & R version 1884 has become.0
