Taurus G2 barrel locked up.
So, I have the the same problem as a few others have had with my Taurus G2. The best way to tell you what problem I have is to have you watch this video, as he had the same problem I now have:

Is there any solution that I can accomplish myself?

Don't mean to throw shade on you. But my bad experiences with a early Taurus Judge, has poisoned me on them.
Send it back to Taurus, and have them fix it. When you get it back get rid of it, even if you have to lose money on it.0 -
Did you see his part 2 ?

Sounds like he didn't send it back, but tapped off the slide and re-positioned the recoil spring/guide on the correct step..0 -

I did see that video. I think I need another set of hands to get that accomplished, as I need to be able to hold down both take down tabs to be able to take the slide off. Am I correct in that?0 -
Yes, the tabs would need to be held down.. I've never stripped a G2, but looked over my Glock 19.. I can hold down the tabs with my left thumb and middle finger , while pushing down the pistol on the corner of the bench on the bottom of the trigger guard.. The slide could be easily tapped with my right hand..
If the tabs are locked, and you have no movement at all, it's time to take it to someone who's familiar with that model for a hands-on..0 -
Rufe is dead on with his opinion. What good is a lifetime warranty if the gun is at the shop most of the time? Get it fixed and dump it. Stay away from Taurus...I will not even sell one to, or get one for a customer. 0
