Identify the manufacturer
I have this gun in the shop needing a firing pin. There is a dent in the bottom of the clip/magazine. This clip/magazine fits my Mossberg Targo 22. My cross over lists this as a Marlin 989M2 or Mossberg Models 42, 26C, or 25A. None of these match. Any help will be appreciated!

Your question isn't clear? Are you trying to identify the rifle or magazine, or both? 0 -
dang What did BUBBA do drag it behind his truck 0 -
Montgomery Wards would order a batch of rifles from Mossberg. Mossberg would take left over parts from several runs rifles to fill the orders, and make up guns.
Some times there was no correlation to Mossberg models.
The stock is a way to tell for sure its a Western Field. Magazine will fit the Mossberg 42 and 44 models.0 -
Call Havelin Sales,Festus,MO.The Mossberg parts experts.Or Google them. 0 -
Rufe, the gun needs a firing pin. I need to know the rifle manufacturer and model number. Thanks to all who have replied! I hope someone can tell me the info I need! 0 -
Went through my Mossberg book. It appears to me that the rifle is a Model 42. That has a stock from a Model 35, target rifle.
Don't know if Mossberg offered this as a option? Or this was done at a later date, by a home craftsman?
Or as Hoosier suggested, Mossberg just assembled old parts they had in their stockrooms. Rather than scrap them.
EDIT #1,
Try a Model 35 firing pin.
Photo of Model 35, off the net.

It needs more than just a firing pin IMHO. Good chance you will need to make it. 0 -
Everything else works! Just need a firing pin!!! The model 42 firing pin will NOT work! 0 -
You also have to replace that ratty magazine.
People that abuse guns like that need to be beaten about the head and body.0
