Colt Combat Commander Value, Late 70's
I have this Colt Combat Commander that has had 6rds fired through it back around 1978 when it was purchased. I was thinking it should be worth $1000-$2000 dollars, but that is a large span. Could anyone with more knowledge of the Colt pistols put a value on it?
I have a Winchester Model 94 Carbine, 30-30 that is still in the original box with papers that has never been fired. I will need to value it soon as soon as I can get the pictures ready.
Thanks[^]

I think that your range is as good as it gets. We just don't see that many Colt that are > 30 years old in that good condition. Even the "experts" at the brick & mortar auction houses are often way off in their estimates. A lot depends upon timing & luck. With photos as good as you have taken, you would likely get top dollar.
Satin nickel CC's seem to be more popular than the blued ones. I think a satin nickel in similar condition could bring $1,600-1,800.
My opinion, for whatever it's worth, is that yours would sell in the $1,200-1,400 range. If my brother & I had inherited an equal share of the gun, I would be happy if he gave me $600 for my interest. Colts have been appreciating at a high rate; I'd expect the value to increase 10-20% per year.

You have what is called a series 70 pistol. These are generally more desirable than the series 80 pistols. I have two of these, one blued and one satin nickel.
I have seen a number of these come thru local auctions I attend. They usually go for between $800 to $1200.0 -
