Never played with a III. Can you get the barrel/frame off, so you can use like a wooden ruler and a mallet to tap the magazine out from the top end of the grip frame.
post a pic of the top and bottom of the grip frame, so we can see what you have to work with.
added Any chance the genius also inserted a foreign object to jam or glue up the works?
Magazines are cheap, I'd make sure if I have to damage something it would be the magazine.
added 2 Interesting the tool is a section of tape measure. I liked one of the last fixes...

I fixed this problem permanently. I replaced the Hammer Bushing (40) with a Mark II bush and removed the Magazine Disconnector (38). It doesn't matter now if I accidently put the magazine in backwards. It will come out fine and not get stuck. Doing this also got rid of the failed to fire problems that I was having. The best $10 bucks I spent on my Mark III and no fail to fire issues. I bought the parts from Brownells.com"0 -
Just tried it, (very carefully). With my MK III, 22/45 Lite. The mag will go in backwards but won't lock in position. Because the magazine locking stud is only on the right side of the magazine. The locking shoulder in the frame has nothing to engage when the mag is put in backwards.
Because of this, I can't imagine what is causing the magazine in your pistol to be stuck? Unless the steel frame MK III's, have a different setup then the plastic frame MK III, 22/45's?
If there is nothing to engage the magazine locking stud. When the mag is put in backward. It should be able to be pulled out, by using a vise grip on the floor plate as leverage.0 -

Thanks for the replies. This mag will move about a 1/4 of an inch freely. Will not come out past that point. Have put about as much force as I want to and it doesn't budge. Can't not take the weapon down as for cleaning because clip is in. Will go to Ruger forum as suggested see what I find..

Take the grips off both sides and see if you can better determine what is causing the mag to not slide out. 0 -
The forum I mentioned goes into depth about resolving the problem. There's even a tool for use by repeat offenders. Simply pulling, prying, or pounding only makes it worse(and breaks things). 0
