Can anyone tell me where they hid the serial number on a Savage Model 30E pump 410 shotgun

  Prior to 1968, there was no legal requirement for rifles and shotguns to be serial numbered.
  
  Therefore, many utility grade rifles and shotguns made prior to 1968. Don't have serial numbers.

  I thought that was the situation but not positive. Thank You
  I know they were made between 1958 and 1976? Also gives me some idea of the age.
