BRNO 601
I recently purchased a BRNO/CZ 601. It is missing the bottom metal and trigger pad. I thought that it would be simple to find, but not so. I would appreciate information leading to the parts, or dimensions and pictures so that I could machine them. I was hoping that one of the later models would fit, but it looks like they are pretty unique. Help? I would be willing to purchase a less than perfect action if there is one available.[B)]

I apologize if you've already thought of this, but have you considered trying the bottom metal from a 98 Mauser or a 1903 Springfield? And I don't know what you mean by "trigger pad". 50 years or so ago, we modified a 1903 TG/magazine to fit a friend's 1917 Eddystone. I no longer remember what had to be done to make it work but it made a very nice looking rifle. At that time, Herter's even made a semi-finished stock to accommodate that modification.
I have a BRNO 600 as well as several 98's and Springfields but have had no reason and no curiosity to see if parts would interchange. ('til now!)0 -
Thank you very much for the reply. The BRNO 600 series are very unique in that the trigger (pad as I call it) is actually mounted to the bottom metal or floor plate. When you pull off the floor plate, the piece that your finger touches.....the trigger, comes off of the trigger mechanism, which stays with the action. So, I have the upper half, and am looking for the lower half. Your 600 is a magnum action, my 601 is a short action, and the 602 is a standard long action (I might have the standard and magnum backwards) Thanks for your reply. 0 -
No luck at either. 0 -
600 is the standard length (30'06 Sprg)
601 is the medium length (7X57mm and 308 Win)
602 is the magnum length (375 H&H)
I don't know where you can find parts (I had to buy two CZ 527's in 22 Hornet to replace a defective lower part - ended up shooting both and kept the most accurate and sold the other as is.)
I have a new CZ 601 in 308 Win I bought for $250 plus $50 for an old optical range finder - never shot it.0 -
Did the 527 parts fit the 601? Selling the 308? 0 -
CZ 527 was chambered in 22 Hornet, 222 Rem, 223 Rem, and 7.62X39mm; and there may be other chamberings. It is a petit action made for small rimless cartridges; and its parts are completely different from the CZ (Brno ZKK) 600, 601, and 602 parts.
I bought my first CZ 600 in 30'06 in 1992 and they were somewhat rare at that time and available through a few dealers. I saw more available in the later 1990's and early 2000's then they became less available. I liked them better than the CZ 550s.
At the time they were about a $300 - $400 rifle.
I see one on the auction side listed as a ZKK-601 in 243 Win.0 -
I thought that I could get parts for it and bought the barreled action. I should have hunted the parts first. I would like the one on the auction...same seller that I bought the action from. 0
