    What is the difference between a Remington 7 1/2 and a Remington 6 1/2? Is a Fed 200 primer the equivailent of a Remington 6 1/2? And a Fed 205 the equivailent of a Remington 7 1/2?

Look inside. Boxer primed cases have one central flashhole, Berdan usually has two, maybe three, maybe one but off center.

If you want to look at the empty case's Berdan primer and the two holes and nipple, you can hydraulically push the primer out of the case by filling it 3/4's full with water and inserting a snug fitting bullet and whacking the bullet with a hammer. It usually just takes one whack.

    Sure.
    1) Shine a BRIGHT light down thru the mouth & view the flash hole(s)
    2) Learn how to read headstamps

+1 This method will see you through pretty much all cases.
