    I did the 3/8" wood block test and the result is that the middle of the hammer shank is resting on the bottom of the firing pin stop/retainer without ever touching the firing pin.

    thickness(front to back) of the 'sear legs .092"

    This is a classic example of "No good deed goes unpunished"
    If at any time you want to quit I will certainly understand.
    I had no idea and do not want to impose on your time..

    That did it! With the adjustment and stoning of the spring fingers the pistol will now disconnect within the 1/4" rearward travel of the slide.
    Next step, test firing. Any recommendations?
