stevens mainspring snap ring retainer removal

Looking for some advice on how to remove the snapring that holds in the mainspring and firing pin in a stevens 39a bolt action. 410. Theres no holes to slip anything in behind it to pry it out

  I would use a small sharp pair of dikes (or vice grips) to grab onto one of the ears at the ends to roll it out of the hole.
