Charter Arms back in the 80's. Made a handgun version of the AR 7, they called it the Explorer II. Maybe it's a barrel from one that has been cut down and threaded for accessories?

Its a straight blowback, bolt rests on the barrel.

In the photo it looks like the locating tab for the barrel is located 90 degrees from the writing which makes it an AR 7 rifle barrel, the pistols had their tab in a different place so the pistol barrel could not be easily installed in the rifle...ATF requirement. This barrel shows what someone thought would be an improvement.... 0 -
