M1A Difference
How would you be able to visually differentiate between an M1A National Match and an M1A Loaded? Are there any markings on the receiver?
I know both have the 308NM barrels.
I looked some more and it appears the NM has a hooded aperture where the Loaded does not.

I researched this a while back and here is my recollection.
You are correct that, the most obvious external difference is the hooded rear sight on the MN but not the loaded. But someone could add the hooded sight and that would not make it a NM.
The biggest functional difference, IIRC, is NM action is fiberglass bedded into the stock to create a more consistent action to stock contact. The glass bedding should be visible under the heal of the receiver without disassembly. It should also be visible by removing the trigger group. No glass bedding equals not NM.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thank you. I didn't want to take the rifle apart and hoped there were other visual indicators. I will check under the heel of the receiver and hope they don't mind if I take the trigger group out to verify. 0
