    That's a really old shooting iron. I'm not sure I would shoot it period. That was back in the day of mercuric primers. Those not only ate the brass but didn't do iron/steel any good either crawling into the crystal structure.

    I don't think they load 32 longs any hotter than 32 shorts.

    If I had nothing else to shoot, I would try what ever fits, shorts would be my first choice if I could find them.

    I don't know of a H&A for .32 S&W Long.
    Even if they will chamber, I would stick to .32 S&W (Not "short", just .32 S&W.)

    As Hawk said. H&A went out of business in 1916. Unlike 38 S&W, 32 S&W is still loaded to black powder pressures. Usually 32 S&W is easier to find than 32 S&W Long (I have a few S&W target revolvers in the Long caliber) IF the gun is in good condition mechanically (timing is right, end shake within limits, etc) no reason not to shoot it.
