Just picked up a Colt Detective Special from a friend.
2" Nickel plated, plastic grips.
Ser #6169xx I would like to know approx date of manf.

    K96948 is the serial number on my Python. I believe it to be 1983, but the proof house link only goes to 1978. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
