Rossi 92 question
Hey all,
Despite a lack of love for my first Rossi 92 .38/.357 lever gun, I bought another several months back to give the 1892 another go. (I love lever actions!) This one shoots fine, but seems to have a gorilla-strength ejector spring because it leaves gouges in the brass that make them unreloadable.
Can anyone point out where I can get a better spring, or is there another trick a tabletop gunsmith can do without having to package up the gun and send it elsewhere?
Thanks!

One Rossi 92 tune-up guru recommends cutting one coil from the ejector spring, and possibly smoothing the shaft, which is contoured, that the spring rides on. I shortened mine 1/2 coil (little bit at a time) and it seemed to help. Your mileage may vary! 0 -
Gunspring kits are available for the Rossi 92. They include: mainspring, ejector, lever tension and trigger springs. I have one in my 92, makes a world of difference in function, i.e. cycling the action, trigger pull. 0 -
3 ways to trim the length of coil springs. Really good nippers (cheap ones will not do it), cut off disk in a Dremel tool, and grinding it down on wheel. 0 -
