Antique Gun values
I have a question on the value of a couple of guns. I have pics available.
They are both L&G Windsor rifles. One is a musket with the bayonette. Looks to be in Mint condition. The other is what i think is called a Cavalry rifle. I believe it shoots a Rim Fire cartridge. Also in mint condition. Just wondering what the values maybe.

Your musket would be a Lamson, Goodnow & Yale (LG&Y) contract musket and I have no idea what your "cavalry" rifle may be as there were hundreds of types made. Besides, the cavalry used carbines, not rifles, which were used by the infantry.
You need to post good, closeup pics for us to give you any type of opinion. This thread will show you how to post pictures in here:

As I suspected, the top one as a "Model 1861 special contract" .58 caliber LG&Y rifle, manufactured in Windsor, Vt. Approximately 50,000 of these rifles were manufactured between 1862 and 1864. Although not "mint", your rifle appears to be in very good NRA antique condition. Are there inspector's stampings in the left side of the wood opposite the lock?
The other one appears to be a "Ball" carbine manufactured by the E.G. Lamson & Company . Approximately 1,000 of these carbines were delivered to the US Government shortly after the end of the War of Northern Aggression . They were chambered in .50 rimfire caliber. Also look for any government inspector's marks on the left side of the carbine behind the saddle ring bar.
I'd like to see some better pictures, including longshots showing the whole carbine (both sides).0 -
I can get better pics later today. 0 -
