    before doing so suggest you put that question of reaming to site 16 ga.com
    also look up the questions and answers on the LC Smith site
    regarding increasing chamber lenght.

    Do as you will, but I would not.

    Don't do it without thoroughly researching the pros and cons.

    I generally try to avoid anything that can't be undone.

    There are 2 1/2" commercial cartridges available as well as load recipes to load your own.
    I load for both of my 2 1/2" 16's. The load I shoot in my A5 performs as well as any 2 3/4" cartridge I've yet seen.
