A silver solder job would probably fix it. Anyone who has the heat capability can do it.

    I don't know that a W 6 looks like, post a pic.

Silver will work, doesn't blue. If it looks like a 16, then the pin on one side could be sheared.

added Red heat required for real silver, low temp silver not as strong or as much heat needed. Neither will blue well. Proper flux required to best results.

I think I would weld electrically it using mild steel wire and a shielding gas. Hand files and perhaps a Dremel tool for clean up.
Practice on some small scrap stuff first.

added 2 High temp silver is strong. There were 200 ounces of it holding a B-17 together. Happy Independence Day. Special thanks to all that served.

If it works out please post a product name.

A Lyman 6 goes for $80 or less on Ebay which is less than what your going to spend paying someone to repair it. If you could do it yourself then I would say its worth repairing it.

Most of the W 6 sights in good shape go for over $ 100 now days. I will give the silver a try.

Silver solder requires the metal to get just up to red hot so you will loose all finish on the part and then there will be some filing and fitting to remove the excess and then refinishing.

I was talking to a small engine repair guy and he tells me he has a solder, some new stuff, that is really strong. I understand I will not be able to blue it but they have paints now days that come really close to blue color. Only one side is broke loose so maybe it will work.
