I don't think that I have ever seen 8x57r clips R usually denotes Rimmed as in for use in break open actions. The old small bore .318 J came in gewehr clips.

added Sad that they want $13 for a folded piece of steel and it doesn't work correctly. I have found expired ads asking up to $30 for original ones and they are sold out!0 -
sorry I ment to type 8x57j, rimless .318 dia 0 -
The German word "gewehr" usually refers to a military rifle. Stripper clips must first of all fit the slot in the receiver, and then also fit the rims of the cartridge cases. I have a batch of common German 98 Mauser clips for charging rifles with 8x57 cartridges. I think they would fit any rimless 8x57 case, earlier .318" bullet diameter or later .323" bullet diameter. I do know from personal experience these clips won't fit some other models of Mauser rifles, due to clip slot variation. So, I was wondering which "gewehr" you wished the stripper clips to fit? 0 -
PA Shooter is correct. The .318 and .323 case rims are the same. The first Gewehr to use a clip was the Model 88 Commission rifle.
The Mausers from the '89 through the '98 used different clips.
Reproductions of the 88's are being made. Originals of the Mausers aren't hard to find.0 -

Same here. Would suggest that "88" belongs in OP's topic line, as this forum's title is not "Ask the Clairvoyants".
None up on the auction side, so try these .....

thanks for link, problem is I bought one there a few weeks ago. first off
the clip held the cartridge too tight at the neck, it was allso very hard to
insert , even empty, and would no way drop out the bottom even when pushed.
so I shaved it down a bit and it would fit into the magazine yet still held the
cartridge too tight for it to feed into chamber, next tried shaving down the inside,
well spring action of clip still held too tight. lastly I tried bending it open in small
increments, until finally it split apart. Been told I need original 88 clip
not a new manufacturer for it to work right.0 -
Until post #6, we couldn't figure out WTH the OP was seeking.
Turns-out it's Gew. 88 enbloc chargers.
We'd all like to help him out here. Which way is the exit?0 -
I have some well worn 88 clips with some surface rust, I would send the op one to make sure it is the clip and not the rifle. 0
