Benelli question

I am in the market for a new shotgun. Looking at the Benelli Super Black Eagle II or the M2 Field model. Question: is the only difference between the two is that the SBE can use 3.5" or is there other differences between the two? The difference in price is not enough to make me go one way or the other. I mainly use the shotgun for upland birds. Should I get the 3.5 in case I start duck/turkey hunting or will the 3" suffice? Thanks.

No idea why they refer to them as bolt-action guns in Hangfire's link. Like most Benelli's, they use the intertia recoil operation which is much cleaner than gas operated guns and are generally lighter (all other things the same), but most agree they have a shorter recoil impulse making the recoil feel just a bit stronger, especially on the 3.5" capable guns.

The Montefeltro is about a half-pound lighter than the legacy. IIRC that is due to one having an alloy receiver. The Legacy has higher-end options available such as better grade wood and such and accordingly, is more expensive.

Which one? It all depends on your desired use. All their guns are good. The SBE is a very versatile gun with its 3.5" chamber, they also have an ultra-light Benelli that is great for all day carrying during upland game hunts. The two you are asking about lie in the middle. You won't be sorry in any Benelli you buy, and they do hold their value quite well too.

Did they just start making the Ethos in 20ga? I've got a 12ga, They didn't make a 20 when I got mine.

I really like mine but I'm not to sure the recoil pad does much to reduce recoil, but is real light weight which is what I like
