Colt Bisley question
Helping someone sell a Colt Bisley. It's in 44/40 and made in 1905 by the serial number. We're trying to figure out if it's been reblued. The lettering is pretty sharp, but the frame is the same color as the barrel and the cylinder. All the photos of blued Bisleys I've seen have frames case hardened coloring. Anyone know if Bisleys came fully blued ? Pistol has been in a case 60 plus years and shows a fair amount of holster wear. TIA !

in my opinion re blued all I have ever seen from factory CASE COLOR frame or nickel entire pistol 0 -
The Blue Book states that the Bisley was offered in the same finishes as the standard SAA, which means: blued w/ color casehardened frame, or full nickel 0 -
The Flat Top Target Model Bisleys (and Frontiers) were blued all over (except the hammer.)
Regular Bisleys with hog wallow fixed sights had color case hardened receivers.0 -
Some Colt SAAs were offered having a soft frame for engraving. There were also some martial SAAs found w/blued frames. 0
