Remington 673
Has Remington dropped the Model 673? I was looking at one of their catalogs the other day and there was no Model 673.

I know this model didn't last very long. Anyone have an opinion on it? 0 -

I have a 600 that PO Ackley made up in 45-350 Rem mag. It is 5.25 pounds loaded with the sling. Recoil can be punishing. It has a quick twist barrel with parabolic cut rifling's designed for cast bullets. It also happens to shoot my shot loads very nice.0 -
It is basically a Model 7 dressed in different clothing, and offered in the original 600 calibers of 6.5 Remington Magnum, and 350 Remington Magnum.
They tried dressing it similar to what the 600/660's were, and it basically failed again...Big Green marketing team, are not fast learner's...or even slow learner's for that matter.0 -
I had one, got it as a newer version of my 600 in 6mm Remington. I guess the good news is that the floorplate is all metal, the rib is steel. Not plastic like the originals. Mine had that silly "J" lock which I switched out. Nice enough rifle, good recoil pad. I think I put about 20 rounds through it. I have an Encore barrel in the same caliber and it doesn't have the OAL limits of a magazine fed rifle.
That rifles in this caliber don't sell is probably more a reflection of the cartridge, not the rifle. But without the cartridge the 673 wouldn't exist - it would be a plain old 7.0
