browning a5 belgium 12ga magnum
have the above gun, bought a jap 12ga 3in slug barrel for the gun, put the jap barrel on and fired it twice, everything fine, then on third shot just a click, took the shell out, nothing hitting the primer, put another shell in same thing over and over, took barrel off gun, everything looks fine, put back on and tightened the cap, same thing , click, so put my original barrel back on and it fires fine, took off and put jap barrel on and click, the jap barrels are supposed to work on a belgium gun, right

Yes, that is correct, they are supposed to work. Check for the proper installation of the friction rings. They have to be one way for magnum, and another for 2 3/4".
Also while you are checking that, make SURE your magazine tube is clean from and debris, grime, and oil or grease too.0 -
Not sure what the barrel has to do with the problem you are having but it must be the problem. Have had a Jap barrel on my light 20 for years with no problem. I would try thoroughly cleaning the barrel and action. The barrel may not be seating properly in the action causing the firing pin to not reach the shell. 0
