    It dates to the early 50's. According to Stroebel's book. It was a novel idea. Built with excellent optics and materials.

    But the way it stuck up off the top of the receiver like a sore thumb. Was a deal killer. Most folks, want as low mounted scope as possible. Why the guys who developed the Boone. Didn't realize this, is a mystery?


    Here is a photo of a rare 4 powder Boone, mounted on a Sheridan Air Rifle. Showing how far it sticks up off the receiver. Very fragile and precarious. Drop it once, and it's history.
