I just aquired a 1895 DWM Mauser. I discovered that the firing pin protrudes beyond the bolt face. What is the fix...and where can I get another firing pin if needed?? Thanks!

NOT PRACTICAL...BUT YOU COULD JUST 'RE-TIP' IT

+1 for fix it. I have made several tips for broken firing pins. I fit them to the hole in the bolt. Music wire, drill rod or an aircraft bolt is good starting stock for the new tip.

Just get an imperial marked but non serialized pin. They broke parts and the armorers replaced them. No big deal on a FP.

    jetmek,

Both suggestions will work. Years ago and days gone by, we always 'tipped' broken firing pins because it was just what was done.

Nowadays though I would tend to go with p3skyking and just use a new one without a serial number. Then when you wanted to sell the rifle just put the original pin back in the bolt body.

    Best.
