Winchester model 12 skeet
I have been looking for a Winchester model 12 skeet in 12 gauge WS1 choke with duckbill receiver. What do yall think of GB auction # 554630900? It looks original to me but I'm no expert, also I see it's been listed on GB for several months. Any response appreciated.

Good afternoon members, I recently purchased a Winchester Model 12 shotgun, 12 ga. I know very little about this revered shotgun and I initially thought it was the standard model. I now believe it is a skeet gun. The stock is clearly the skeet stock, though the wood does not have a heavy pattern as some do. Barrel is marked WS-1 and is 26" in length. This gun was made in 1952. Does all this point to a Skeet Model? Condition is very good, had some surface rust (freckling) at some point but none now. Bore excellent. Stocks have no cracks. Any thought as to a value? Thanks...Dan 0 -

Given that the barrel has been reblued. It's not factory original. Puts it in the shooter category. That and being it's a reserve auction. Tends to turn folks off.0 -
The seller states that the barrel has been refinished, and I believe him.

Did all the skeet models have "skeet" stamped on the receiver? I've saw a few early 60's model that are listed as skeet model but are not stamped. I'm really not concerned if it's stamped or not, I would like to have one to use for grouse hunting. I shot one a friend has, it's a 12 gauge skeet 26" WS-1, it shoulders better than anything I've ever picked up. Also, what would kind of range would the ws-1 have with high brass 7 1/2s? 0 -
Chokes made prior to one piece plastic wads pattern tighter than marked. Steel or plated shot patterns tighter most of the time.
