Did Winchester use the standard period wood finishes on these contract model 1895's .

  you may see the odd example were the stock was replaced organically / IE in Russia...
  
  i have one that appears to have been restocked with arctic birch and treated with chromium permagenate...
  
  looks identical in make up and origin to the Russian production stocks mosin nagant stocks...
