Can you tell me if Winchester ever used silver primers in their .356 ammo? I thought they always used brass primers.

I have some brass older Rem 9.5 primers for reloading. I can't remember the last time I saw a box of 303 Savage.

I have seen both colors on factory ammo as well as primers for reloading

That is what I was questioning. I have seen both listed.
I am going to list this box then as factory.

I have a good one for you.
I have always been taught as a rule of thumb, if a primer is chrome colored the round is reloaded.
If the primer is brass colored the round is a factory round.

    Don't think this is true.

I've definitely seen factory loaded rounds with chrome colored primers before.

Not long ago, I saw a box of Remington factory loads that had both colors in the same box.

That works out well for you; according to federal law you can't sell reloads without an FFL.

I have boxes of Win primers that are brass color, and several boxes of Win primers that are silver, and I have factory Win ammo in both colors of primer, so I would not agree at all with your thinking as to what is factory and what is not.
