What does this mean in auctions?
A wildcard is not allowed when a Category has not been specified. Please specify either a Keyword or a Category to perform this search. For more complex searches you may use the Advanced Search function
Am I the only person who has no idea what this means? How many people are not able to use the auction site because of this stupid statement?

It means you hit search without typing anything in the box or picking a category 0 -
Does it to me frequently. Generally I just repeat whatever search I had initially started. Most times it works fine. I blame it on Computer Program Phantom. 0 -
Happens to me all the time when I'm in the message forum and do the following:
1. click Home - just below the GunBroker.com Message Forums - then window comes up with search window and login window
2. type in anything (e.g., Flobert Pistol) then click and I get that message - then I have to re-enter the search string again
GB should have their programmers look at it.0 -
It generally comes up when no category is selected. 0 -
I can type in say S&W 686 then select firearms and every time I get that, now I just hit enter with nothing entered then make my selection.
This happens with both a vista and windows 7 computers.[:(]0 -
I usually get that message when I first log in and try to search for a certain firearm. I just retype what I was looking for and it works well from there on out. 0
