1902 colt auto
How much lose in value on a colt that has been reblued?
advanced search shows two originals with a fare amount of rust, one sold for $1000.00 the other for $2000.00
One mint one went to $2500 with rnm
most all are asking around 2000 with no bids, so my question is Would a reblued gun without the tether ring be worth $1000.00 or less?

Best if you could post photos of it. There are different types of reblueing. How skilled the person was, who polished the Colt. Prior to reblueing is a major factor.
Hate to think about it, but I've seen butcher jobs. Where a pistol was heavy handedly, polished on a belt sander. Prior to being thrown in a blue tank.
Without quality photos, no way we can give a accurate estimate of value.0 -
as above, if the lettering Colt ect. intact and done correctly, it's worth a grand as an entry level. I sold one that was nickled here some years ago here for 700 and it had most of the lettering missing... 0 -
Thanks Grasshopper, I did notice the lettering on the left front is clean and krisp, then in the middle of the slide lettering is slightly faded, then the colt logo beside the hammer is allmost gone. there are also visable abrasion marks (sanding)on both sides of the rear sight. In my opinion FWIW the blueing looks good, not blotchy or faded. 0 -
Somebody once said a GOOD reblue was comparable value to 60% original.
An inferior reblue would fall off from that.
That does not describe a good reblue.0 -
Then of course how often do you get a chance to get one? You can get greenbacks every day. 0
