Star Super B 9mm Para.
I bought a Star Model B Super from a guy that said it was a good shooter. I received it yesterday and during the inspection I discovered the loaded chamber indicator was missing. I wouldn't shoot it with that part missing as that's a channel directly from the chamber to just above the hammer. Gun Parts is showing out of stock and I have sent inquiries to Sarco, Copes Dist. and John Colomb to see if they have the part. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.

It will be fine to shoot it without the loaded chamber indicator. Perfectly safe. 0 -

I have a couple of Star pistols, one is a model sm super that has a loaded chamber indicator, I purposely removed it account of I do not care for it, to me it is just something that can interfere with the loading and cause a jam. Star made very sturdy well built guns, the only thing I can find fault with them is they went out of business and parts have dried up, so trying to find a loaded chamber indicator will be a problem. If you want to fill the hole at the back of the slide that is fairly simple, you will need to remove the rear sight and use a piece of round stock about .125 round, put it in the hole to were it is flush with the rear of the slide, were you removed the sight you will see the rod, mark it, remove the rod and file it until it is flush with the slide when you put it back in, the sight holds the rod in place, that is how the chamber indicator was held in place. That is how I plugged the hole on my pistol, you will be able to look and see if a round is in the chamber were the slide meets the barrel. 0 -
Thank you all for the advice. I mentioned using the shank off of a #20 drill bit to plug the hole on another forum and several of the moderators and members jumped all over me saying that would just make it more dangerous and just can't see why. I'm going to ahead and do that. Thanks again. 0
