rem 1100 fail to fire
Went to test out a rem 1100 i recently bought today, pulled trigger and all I got was a click, no sign of contact at all with primer, but when i took the bolt apart firing pin didn't look broken, i cleaned the receiver throughly after I got it so it shouldn't have an issue with the barrel not seating in the receiver right, fellas im stumped, whats your thoughts folks

Check the "O" ring. 0 -
How would gas ring affect ability to fire? 0 -
Not fit correctly and barrel would not set tight. 0 -
I see by your posted date that you tested it on a Sunday. If the previous owner was a devout Christain, your shotgun may never work on Sunday. Try it again on Monday and see what happens.
Seriously though, I agree with Duckhunter. Make sure something isn't preventing the barrel from seating completely.0 -
After you got the FTF, were you able to pull the handle back, & did the unfired round extract & eject?

i have fired my 1100 with out the 0-ring installed and it fired like normal several times with no ftf. eastbank. 0 -
When my 1100 began to misfire, it turned out to be a broken firing pin spring. It had broken in the middle and the two pieces had kind of screwed themselves together, coming up too short to hold the firing pin back against the hammer fall. 0 -

yes, extracts and feeds fine0 -
Another common malady is to find the plastic bushing at the rear of the bolt has cracked and a portion of that bushing is extending rearward, thus preventing the hammer from contacting the firing pin.
I assume you have pushed the firing pin forward to see that it will pass through the forward portion of the bolt ? (no obstruction ?)0 -
