early colt 1911 parts
I came up with a box of 1911 parts and while i know what they are i'm trying to get an idea of when they were made. They can in a box from a US military arsenal and contained some oddities.
The main ones im wanting to know about are a high polish blued flat smooth mainspring housing. it also has a matching smooth long trigger and a grip safety with a short spur.
Are these pre WWI i know they are 1911 not 1911A1 but the smooth mainspring housing threw me

I suggest you get some books no one can remember all the different changes Charles Clawson has three books on both military and Civilian
1911 Pistols be aware the Big book is long out of print and Goes for BIG BUCKS another good book is by JOE POYER ISBN 978-1-882391-46-20 -

The high polish blued flat MSH makes me think of the 1918 made "Black Colt" version 1911. Lanyard loop, or none?0 -
