Remington Barrel Code

Have a Remington Gamemaster Model 760 30.06 with a barrel code LAA I see no code with a double A on any charts. Can anyone help me? Thank you.

L is Feb. They were made from 1952 to 1981 so XX 51, YY 52, A 54 could work. Use a hand lens as the stamping is usually light.

Possibly, a double stamped A, or maybe the L is in error. If the code is LA, then Feb, 1954 or 1980. If code AA, then March, 1954 or 1980. If an early gun,1954, if a newer 760, 1980.

Charlie and TWalker are right just depends on vintage. Newer one or early one

Here are pictures of both the left side and the right side of the barrel. I do know that is is an older gun.
