Open the cylinder and look inside the crane and you will see the model number. 0 -
I'm guessing that he doesn't have the gun in front of him.
Most likely a M60 made in 1987 is a no-dash.
Neal
EDIT: That pretty much cinches it; it's a no-dash.0 -
I'm swaging circa 1987, which would be a -2
Edit: Opps- the -2s were 3 inch barrels0 -
My WAG, AYA prefix, would date to the fall of 1987.
Per SCSW, 1987 Model 60's would be -2 guns.0 -
Should be a no dash gun unless it is a 3" barrel which is -1 or DAO which is -2 gun all -2 guns were built for NYCPD but most were returned and may have been re barreled are converted back to SA/DA by the factory 0 -
With the cylinder open on the frm. is MOD. 60. On the crane is 39766, then either 60 or a sideways S?? and faintly B23. Does that help? Thanks. 0 -

With the cylinder open. The marking will be on the frame. If it's just "MOD 60"? With no number after the "MOD 60". It's a no dash model.0 -
Thanks rufe-The only stamp is "MOD. 60" Therefore it's a no dash model! Your expertise is appreciated. One more question-What is meant by an internal lock???? 0 -

It has a hole above the cylinder release latch for a key.
