What is the difference between a Colt Trooper Mark III and the Lawman? Which one is the most valuable?

  Can someone shed some light on what it means when Colt revolvers are
  mentioned as First, second and third generation guns? I am a novice and am perticularly interested in the SAA revolvers. Any good sources recommended for research?

  Trooper:Think longer barrels and adjustable sights and larger grips.
  Lawman: Think shorter barrels and fixed sights, and smaller grips.
  
  Two of my favorite handguns are a Trooper MKIII with a 6 inch barrel and a Lawman MKIII with a two inch barrel.
  
  Trooper is probably worth a bit more than a Lawman but it varies with demand and barrel length and condition.
