50 cal Question

Does anyone know what type of powder Lake City Armory uses in their 50 cal. Blank training ammo ? Cartridges are head stamped " L C 64 "
and the case mouth has a 6 point crimp . Powder is a flake type , looks like Alliant's Unique . Just wondering .

  No clue, but it is likely not usable as a bullet propellant. Blank powder builds operating pressure against the resistance a cardboard wad.

  Most likely WC-150, or one of the other extremely fast burning powders used exclusively in military blanks. As Charlie already said, this is not a suitable propellant for ball cartridges.
