AR Stock tool Castlenut removal question
Is the castlenut the same size on a 5.56 AR as it is on the 7.62 AR? I need to order the castlenut wrench to remove the old stock and install a new one. I have both a 5.56 and a 308 AR, so do I only need one tool? Thanks!

If the stock you want to remove was factory installed, chances are it is staked in. In order to remove it without damaging the receiver, you will need to remove that "staked in" portion of the ring, using a Dremel, and small grinding disc.
One more thing to consider, is that castle nuts are mostly used on the collapsible stock models. If you are installing another collapsible stock, you might not need to remove the buffer tube, just change out the sliding part of it.0
