"Texas Ranger" was a trade name on copies of the Colt Single Action and made by Fabrique d' Armes Reunies of Liege, Belgium in the 1920's.

    Spider nailed it.

These revolvers were manufactured in Liege, Belgium by FABRIQUES D'ARMES UNIES DE LIEGE (FAUL) owned by the Hanquets family. The mail order house Johnson Smith purchased quantities of the TEXAS RANGER in both 38 Special & 38 Long Colt.

They were imported to the US in the early 1930's. They show up at auction now and again- typically $150-$200, depending on condition.

Thank you, it does look very old. Too bad I don't have a cylinder to go with it.

They weren't quality guns. Better than the Spanish S & W copies, but not by much. Probably the lock-up and timing on the cylinder went south. So the cylinder was removed to either get it fixed, or safety purposes,(no fun for the person standing next to you, when a out of time cylinder starts spitting lead).

..If I may vary from the subject, did they also import
.22 single actions, possibly in a gold color plating?
I had something similar as a lad and it was a lead
    spitter for sure.
