    Prior to 1968, rifles and shotguns weren't required to have a serial number. Many inexpensive utility guns, made before 1968, are found without serial numbers.

    Noble manufacturing went out of business in the early 1970's. Smith & Wesson bought them out.

    IT LOOKS pretty new(or well stored}--It does have an aluminum
    trigger guard---I guess it's just an old -Closet Queen-

    Thanks about the pre-'68 regs.
