    The old rule-of-thumb for black powder shotguns was: equal amount, by volume, of powder and shot. Example: if you load 1 1/8 oz. of shot (volume measure), you use that same measure / volume of powder. You would do well to get the Lyman Blackpowder Handbook.

    An ounce and an 1/8-1/4 to around 90 grains 2FFG.
    Thick wad over powder, followed by heavy cushion fibre wad. Thin card over the shot.

    70 gr ffg Goex/Grafs/OldEynsford, Circle fly over powder card, 1 1/8 oz of 7 1/2 shot, Circle Fly 11 ga over shot card. Makes a good skeet/bird load.
