    Please do not try! You would likely encounter significantly higher pressures as the oversized bullet is forced into the rifling. It could result in damage to or destruction of your rifle, and yourself.

    You've GOT to be kidding. Do not attempt this. It's very doubtful that a case loaded with a .284 bullet would even chamber in a .270 chamber due to the oversized neck.

    you probably could swage them down, but that would take some special tools.

    Better to bump up than swedge down. I think your best bet is to acquire the correct bullets.

    As the difference in diameter is 0.0007" , which 'seems' non-significant in size..it was just a thought ;)

    The difference is actually .007". I have heard guys argue over which is better, 270 Winchester (.277") or .280 Remington (.284"). But seriously, it could be a big deal, depending on chamber and/or bore dimensions and tolerances.
