USMC basic

My grandson is due to complete USMC basic in April and I was wondering if it was practice to give a grad gift, or would it be better to wait until after combat training? If a gift is in order any suggestions would be appreciated.

  When I finished boot camp, all I wanted was candy bars and soft drinks.Finished on Parris Island on fri. left for Itr. in North Carolina on Saturday.
