1877 colt Lightening 38 with SAA style grip frame?
I have a nice 1877 Lightening in 38 colt. It has a SAA type grip frame on it instead of the traditional lighting frame with the squared top. Looks to be original with hard rubber colt grips and it fits perfect so suspect it is original. I do not know the history of the gun but would like some info on this different configuration. Barrel is 4 1/2".
I could try to figure out how to post a photo here too.
Thanks for any info.

There are 2 shown in the Butterfield & Buterfield auction catalog. Of the 1877's, they auctioned back in the 90's.
One was done by a Indiana gunsmith by the name of Crull. The other is unattributed. Both are listed in the catalog, as being modified Colt Model 1877's. Likely yours, has also been modified after leaving Colt.0 -
+1 I'd like to see pic's. 0
