I use 1 part Simple Green to 4 parts water. It works well on the delicate animation parts I work on and it doesn?t hurt them a bit. Use at 145 degrees.

We just used Stoddard solvent/mineral spirits. Keep the tank clean/free of accumulated grit in the bottom. Wrapped in a cloth sacks can help parts not rubbed against each other - depends on your finish

Trying to clean up an old 10/22 receiver and trigger group.
wish to save the finish on the parts. This is a very dirty one.

You DO NOT want anything touching thew tank, suspend the parts for the best results...

A spray can of Remoil and a nylon cleaning brush will do the job nicely. I clean a lot of guns at work and that's what I use for a 10/22 trigger group and it will not harm the finish.

An ultrasonic cleaner can vibrate the dye out of anodized aluminum parts. The solution you use has little to do with it- it's the ultrasonic action.
