search for auctions
When I try to search for an item I either get too few ot I get thousands of items.
This time I wanted a holster for a Ruger .22 cal new model single six. Instead of limiting to just that item I get THOUSANDS of items.

So how do you get it to limit? The more detail I put in the more items I get. For example if I put in Ruger #3 rifle 45/70 I would get any item that had Ruger, 3, rifle or 45/70 in the description. 0 -

So I selected the firearms category, entered ruger #3 45-70 in the search box. Results appear with like ruger 45 ... Select narrow search results box single shot rifles.0 -
Hopeless. I put in Ruger #3 45/70 rifle & got 24 results of which only one was correct.
I put in Ruger #3 & got 1000 results. The first few I scanned were no where close. Even your example had only 2 of 7 exactly correct.0 -
Click on browse categories

Search word below "ruger (populate search box below checklist)

Quite simple
Why search all categories - makes no sense
If I can figure it out and make it mostly work well than anyone can

Search isn't a precise function because people list/search things differently. 3 that exactly fit what I looked for out of 7 results that are darn close compared to thousands I would have to manually sort threw, seems like a good deal for the 15 seconds I invested.
There might be a search box help button that tell you things that can make it easier such as "no. 3" is required in the results.
You need to play around some, the good news is skills acquired mostly work in searches everywhere.
