    Just a WAG. It is imported as a 5 shot. The extension is added, when it gets to the US.

    So altering it after it's here is okay. I always thought 922R had something to do with not being able to add extensions to shotguns like this.

    My guess is, that if they don't actually sell the extensions mounted on the shotgun it's legal. If you choose to buy a extension separately, after buying the shotgun. It also would be legal.

    That was repealed in 2004.

    Even 1994-2004, it was legal to import because it had only 1 "strike" against it. (It didn't also have a folding stock, a pistol grip, or accept a detachable mag.)

    In about 2009, My godson bought a Browning A5 Rhodesian combat shotgun from a shop in Pensacola. it was like a standard A5 until the barrel. The wood forearm went from the receiver to the end of the 18inch barrel. It's 8 or 9 shot, don't remember.

    922r has to do with how many American made parts the gun has. It had to do with detachable magazines, and their capacity, not fixed tube magazines.
