1895 Nagant
I was interested in getting an M1895 Nagant Revovler. Anyone have any experience with them? Would you recommend? Should I get the Tokarev instead?

Get the Tokarev. I've owned both, back in the day. Those Nagant revolvers are clunkers. Absolutely worlds worst trigger pull. With ammo that is difficult to come by, and expensive. If you can even find it.
The Tokarev pistol, is 100% better than the Nagant. Very pleasant, flat shooting. (long as your wearing ear protection), and accurate. Although the ammo, is't cheap nowadays. Much more common that than the Nagant ammo. If you like shooting your guns. You will enjoy the Tokerav.0 -
The Nagant is one of the finest answers to a question never asked ever built by an arms maker. The cylinder cams forward so there is no gap. That is fun if apparently useless. The trigger is indeed awful, but the ammo is not that difficult to find. I agree, the Tok is a better firearm, though the Nagant remained in service from 1896 to 2006. 0 -

The "use" of it is that with no cylinder gap, this is the only revolver on which a suppressor could be moderately effective.
Was it designed for that reason? No.
It it worth actually fitting a suppressor? No.
Is the gun super-cool, like something out of "steampunk" or Victorian England? Yup.
Do I own one. . .nope. [;)]0 -
If you ever master the trigger pull of a Nagant revolver, you will then be qualified to unbolt tracks on a tank. Without a wrench. And some Nagants are DAO. 0
