    The Model 10 is a standard consumer type bolt action rifle. As a general rule they are quite accurate right out of the box. The 18" barrel of the scout rifle tends to make the muzzle blast more severe for the shooter, so be sure to wear hearing protection. If it is a scout rifle the mounting point for the optics will be forward of the ejection port so a long-eye-relief type of scope will be needed. If it has the Savage Accu-trigger you will see a small blade protruding from the front center of the trigger. This gives a light trigger pull once the take-up of the blade is pulled through.

    18" Barrel, is fine for light handy woods walking type rifle. Shooting it off a bench, at a rifle range. With a bunch of other shooters. Will make you a bunch of instant enemies.
